BlockBuster Weekend:: “Red Tails” brings in $19.1 Million, comes in 2nd to “Underworld”

Congrats to George Lucas and all the writers and actors of the movie “Red Tails” based on the Tuskegee Airmen. George lucas financed the movie with his own $60 million dollars after trying to bring the story to the big screen for 23 years. Hollywood was not supportive of a movie with an all black cast that could lead the box office, but this weekend proved otherwise. Now that the movie was a success a prequel and sequel are already in the works.

According to Lucas, he is retiring and would like Spike Lee & Lee Daniels to work on the following sequel and prequel. I am very proud that audiences went out and supported the film, I am also hoping that more is given about the background to the story in the prequel and sequel.
